Megan Young from the Philippines is Miss World 2013

A new Miss World was crowned last Saturday the 28th of September in Bali, Indonesia.

Over 130 beauties from all over the world took part in the beauty pageant and it seems like one Megan Young was the fairest among them all.

As the pageant went on the number of competitors reduced. First there was 130, then there were 20 then 6 which saw Miss Philippines, Miss Brazil, Miss Spain, Miss Ghana, Miss France and Miss Gibraltar battle it out for the top beauty spot. Then the top 3 were announced and this saw Miss France, Marine Lorphelin as the First Runner up and Miss Ghana Naa Okailey Shooter as the Second Runner up.

MEGAN
It was the beautiful Miss Philippines, Megan Young who took the proverbial crown home. When asked to comment on her win she said, “No words! Thank you so much everyone for choosing me. I promise to be the best Miss World ever.”

Miss Young is a student studying Digital Film making. She has been appearing on screen since the age of 15, starring in films, TV shows, and as a presenter. Megan has ambitions of moving behind the camera in the future, taking the role of director after gaining experience and finishing her qualifications. In her spare time she enjoys playing video games, she says she has and always will be a Harry Potter fan, and that she is “guided by my heart… I think and speak from it.”

Kenya was represented by 23 year old Wangui Gitonga.
