The new professionals were officially gazetted on October 17, 2025, marking a major step in efforts to strengthen Kenya’s human capital base.

HRMPEB Chairperson said the milestone reflects the board’s commitment to developing ethical, people-centered HR leaders, noting that this year’s certification saw the highest number of private candidates under the revised CHRP curriculum.

The 2025 class represents a 60 percent increase from last year’s 708 graduates. Women made up 77.4 percent (875) of the group, while two were persons with disabilities, demonstrating inclusivity in the HR profession.

The certification raises the total number of Certified Human Resource Professionals (CHRPs) in Kenya to 4,843 since the board became a parastatal in 2021.

The Chairperson lauded the board’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program, which allows experienced practitioners to earn formal certification, calling it “a game-changer in professionalizing HR practice across Kenya.”
