KeRRA seeks to recruit new Director General

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 12 – The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) has advertised for a new Director General (DG) to replace Jackson K. Magondu, who is currently serving in the role on an interim basis.

In a job advertisement seen by Capital FM Business, KeRRA said the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Authority’s strategic goals and overseeing the management of its resources. The role also involves providing leadership and direction in the achievement of KeRRA’s mandate, development of strategy, and delivery of annual goals and objectives.

Applicants are required to have at least 15 years’ professional experience, including a minimum of 10 years post-registration experience in highway and road engineering, as well as not less than 10 years’ experience in a senior managerial position within the roads sector. Candidates must also be registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) as a Professional Engineer, among other qualifications.

“Interested applicants should email their duly signed application letter, updated curriculum vitae indicating names of at least three (3) professional referees, copies of academic certificates, professional certificates and the national identity card, with the job title and job reference as the subject of the email, on or before January 13, 2026,” KeRRA said.

The Authority added that successful candidates must meet the Leadership and Integrity requirements set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and will be required to present relevant clearance documents before being issued with an offer letter.

KeRRA is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Roads and Transport, established under the Kenya Roads Act, 2007, with a mandate to develop, manage, maintain and rehabilitate rural roads across the country.
