COLOMBO, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) — Sri Lanka earned around 2.66 billion U.S. dollars from tourism in the first ten months of 2025, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) said in its latest report.
Tourism earnings for October 2025 reached 186.1 million dollars, according to the bank.
The CBSL said total earnings during the January-October period rose 4.9 percent from the same period in 2024.
Meanwhile, data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) showed that 1,972,957 tourists arrived in the country from January to Nov. 12, 2025.
India remained the largest source market with 443,622 visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 180,592, Russia with 144,308, Germany with 123,053, and China with 115,400 arrivals, the SLTDA said.
