NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 22 – Microsoft has announced the return of Xbox Game Camp Africa for its third year, aiming to build capacity among developers across the continent.
The 12-week program, run in partnership with ID@Xbox’s Developer Acceleration Program, will see selected professional studios receive mentorship from Team Xbox while developing working prototypes or vertical slices of their projects.
Since launch, Xbox Game Camp Africa has brought in more than 1,900 emerging creators. Kenyan studio Kunta Content, which joined the earlier cohorts, is among the beneficiaries. Its debut title Hiru, inspired by African landscapes such as the Masai Mara and the Congo Basin, is now in development.
The 2025 edition will officially kick off on December 4 in Cape Town, South Africa, during Africa Games Week.
