TotalEnergies Kenya Names Biova Agboutou as Board Chair

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 2 – TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya has named Biova Agboutou as its new Director and Chairperson of the Board, effective 1 September 2025, following the resignation of Elodie Luce, who has taken up a new role within the TotalEnergies Group.

According to Total, Agboutou brings a wealth of international experience, having held senior positions across the TotalEnergies network, including LPG Vice President, Marketing and Services in Paris, Lead Negotiator for New Ventures and Asset Management, and Deputy Managing Director of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project in Kampala.

She also served as Managing Director and Country Chair of TotalEnergies in Madagascar, and earlier gained operational and management experience in Equatorial Guinea and France.

Agboutou holds a Master of Science in Operations Research and Transportation from MIT and a Master of Engineering from CentraleSupélec.

The company said her expertise in strategy, operations, and leadership will be instrumental in driving growth and innovation for the Kenyan unit.

“TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya has appointed Ms. Biova Agboutou as Director and Chairperson of the Board effective 1 September 2025,” said the company in a statement.

“She replaces Ms. Elodie Luce, who resigned after serving since 2019 to take up a new role within the TotalEnergies Group.”

The company says Agboutou’s appointment comes at a time when the energy sector in Kenya is undergoing significant transformation, with firms focusing on expanding clean energy solutions and improving operational efficiency.
