Nairobi, Kenya, Sept 1 – The Association of Fintechs in Kenya (AFIK) has announced the launch of its flagship training initiative, the Fintech Mastery Program.
The program is designed to equip both aspiring and practicing fintech professionals with practical skills and industry knowledge, marking a major step in strengthening Kenya’s fintech talent pipeline.
The training covers key verticals including payments, digital lending, insurtech, wealthtech, digital infrastructure, and blockchain.
Each session is contextualized to Kenya’s and Africa’s unique fintech landscape, ensuring that participants gain practical insights that reflect local realities and global standards.
Speaking during the launch, AFIK’s Board Chairman Ali Hussein said, “At AFIK, we believe that the strength of our fintech ecosystem lies in the capacity of its people. The Fintech Mastery Program is designed to close knowledge gaps, empower professionals, and contribute to creating a talent pipeline that will drive innovation, growth, and financial inclusion across Kenya and the continent.”
AFIK also paid tribute to the late Leon Kiptum, a former Board Member who played a pivotal role in conceptualizing the initiative. In recognition of his visionary contributions to Kenya’s fintech ecosystem, the association has dedicated the Fintech Mastery Program to his memory.
