NAIROBI, Kenya, July 18 – 20 insurance broker licenses have been revoked as the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) cracks down on non-compliant operators.
They include African Continent Insurance Brokers Limited, Andalus Insurance Brokers Limited, Alpha-Levits Insurance Brokers Limited, and Berkley Insurance Brokers Limited.
Others are Bilan Insurance Brokers Limited, Blossom Insurance Brokers Limited, Solian Insurance Brokers Limited, and Swinton Insurance Brokers (K) Limited, among others.
In a notice today, IRA cited Section 196(A) of the Insurance Act (Cap. 487) for the cancellation.
Under the Act, individuals are required to meet minimum capital requirements, submit required returns, and adhere to investment regulations to get an insurance license.
“Pursuant to section 196 (A) of the Insurance Act, the Insurance Brokers whose names appear below have ceased transacting insurance business with effect from 30th June, 2025,” IRA said in a statement.
