NAIROBI, Kenya, July 29 – The Hub Karen has marked nine years since its launch with a food festival that featured local and international cuisines, cooking demonstrations, and family-friendly activities.
The one-day event brought together over 10 food vendors, offering a mix of traditional African dishes, Japanese sushi, Indian and Mexican cuisine, fast foods, desserts, and gourmet coffee. Shoppers also engaged in live demonstrations by chefs and cultural performances.
The event also featured a cake-cutting ceremony attended by the mall’s management, staff, and some tenants.
This year’s anniversary coincides with the opening of new outlets at the shopping centre, including the African flagship store of Chinese retailer MINISO and Natural Lamu, a Kenyan skincare and fragrance brand.
Opened in May 2016, The Hub Karen houses over 95 local and international tenants, including retail stores, clinics, gyms, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. It was also the location of Carrefour’s first Kenyan branch.
