NAIROBI, Kenya, May 1 – Ride-hailing company Little Cab has partnered with the UEFA Champions League trophy tour to offer free transport for football fans attending the trophy viewing event at the Sarit Expo Centre in Westlands, Nairobi.
The fans will be ferried in electric buses from designated pick-up points—Kencom, Junction Mall, TRM, and Imaara Mall—as part of the company’s push for sustainable mobility.
Kenya is one of only five African countries selected to host the UEFA Champions League trophy during its 2025 global tour, sponsored by Heineken. The month-long tour began in Vietnam on April 7 and is bringing the iconic trophy to football fans across Asia and Africa.
The tour is accompanied by Bastian Schweinsteiger, the former German international footballer and UEFA Champions League winner.
“We are privileged to be part of the UEFA Cup tour in Kenya. This gives us a chance to connect with local football fans while also showcasing our e-mobility initiatives,” said Nyawira Maina, Regional Corporate Manager at Little Limited.
Little Cab’s use of electric buses reflects its broader strategy to promote environmentally friendly transportation options. The company announced the rollout of electric bikes and scooters in March 2022, as part of its long-term investment in clean mobility.
The development comes as Kenya faces rising fuel prices and growing concerns over urban air pollution, prompting greater interest in green transport solutions.
The trophy viewing event at Sarit Expo Centre offers fans a chance to see and take photos with the UEFA Champions League trophy, one of the most prestigious symbols in global football.
