NAIROBI, Kenya, May 20 – Google has rolled out AI Max for Search Campaigns, a new artificial intelligence-powered tool designed to help African businesses reach more customers online.
Rolled out globally in open beta, AI Max improves ad performance by automatically matching search queries, customizing ad copy in real time, and directing users to the most relevant web pages.
Powered by Google’s Gemini AI, the tool aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating with limited budgets and marketing resources.
“AI Max is about making advertising work harder — not adding to the workload,” said Brian Burdick, Google’s Senior Director of Search.
Early adopters report a 14 percent rise in conversions without increased costs. The tool is built into existing Search campaigns, allowing easy activation. Google says this innovation aligns with its broader digital support efforts across Africa, including the Hustle Academy and other skills programs.
With AI Max, even small enterprises in crowded marketplaces can better connect with high-intent customers in an increasingly digital economy.
