Uber targets mass travelers with ‘van’ services in Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 19 – Uber has announced the introduction of ‘Uber Van’ in Nairobi, which will allow drivers to carry a large group of passengers at a go.

In a statement, the ride-hailing platform said that the new solution will boost drivers earnings besides providing passengers with enhanced spaces.

Uba has further noted that Uber Van, which has been specifically designed for comfort, will be priced higher than Uba XL and Uba Comfort.

Furthermore, riders will be able to add up to two extra stops to pick up or drop “friends or family members.”

“With Uba Van, families, friends, and large groups can enjoy a spacious way to get around town, to/from the airport, attend business conferences, or have a fun night out. Adventure seekers with travel and sporting equipment can also benefit from Uba Van,” it stated.
