NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 20, 2024 – GOMYCODE Kenya has marked a historic milestone with its inaugural graduation ceremony, celebrating 50 graduates from programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, and Software Development.
The event underscored the institution’s commitment to addressing the growing demand for tech professionals in Kenya and beyond, as industries increasingly adopt emerging technologies like AI and data analytics.
The ceremony was graced by James Ndiga, a senior tech recruiter at Google, as the guest speaker. In his keynote address, Ndiga emphasized the importance of adaptability and lifelong learning in today’s rapidly evolving tech landscape. “Graduation is not just the end of a chapter; it’s the beginning of an exciting journey,” he said, encouraging graduates to embrace opportunities in the tech industry with confidence and resilience.
Mellany Msengezi, General Manager of GOMYCODE Kenya, applauded the collective efforts of students, instructors, and partners. “Today’s celebration is a testament to the hard work and determination of our students, the expertise of our instructors, and the unwavering support of our partners. Our graduates are equipped to solve industry challenges and drive innovation,” she remarked.
Since its launch, GOMYCODE Kenya has empowered learners through its Hackerspace, hands-on training, and industry-focused curricula. The institution’s programs are designed to bridge the tech skills gap, preparing graduates for high-demand roles such as Data Scientists, AI Specialists, and Software Developers.
As part of its mission to make tech education accessible, GOMYCODE introduced a scholarship program in December 2024, enabling more young Kenyans to acquire essential skills. This initiative complements a successful first year marked by impactful collaborations, student-focused initiatives, and significant growth.
With tech talent demand soaring globally and over 70% of Kenyan companies citing digital skills shortages, GOMYCODE’s role in bridging the gap is critical. Looking ahead to 2025, the institution is set to welcome new students and continue its mission of transforming lives through technology education.
Enrollment for the 2025 academic year is now open. Prospective students can visit the Nairobi Hackerspace at Westside Tower, Lower Kabete Road, or explore courses and scholarships online at [GOMYCODE Kenya](https://gomycode.com/ke/).
