NAIROBI, Kenya, July 11 – 27 Female entrepreneurs in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sectors have been honored at the Kayana Awards following their momentous contribution towards the elevation of communities and industries in the country.
The award ceremony took place Wednesday evening at the Hyat Regency in Westlands.
The winners of the award include Essenpark Ltd, Minat Bakery and Cake Zone, Eco Makaa Solutions, Diro Jewelers, Gwiji for Women, Eco Nasi Leather, De vani Chocolatier, The Chic Evangelist Collection, Africana Women among others.
The voting process took 5 months and was coordinated by four judges, including Victor Otieno, Chris Maara, Chebet Cheruiyot, and Mercy Kimalat.
“This year’s nominees represented a diverse array of businesses, each making significant contributions to their communities and industries,” said Victor Otieno.
In a statement, Kayana said that these women-led companies were selected from various categories, including Commitment to Staff Development, Community Impact, Environmental Impact, Kayana’s Choice Award, and Most Adaptive Use of Technology, among others.
“The highly anticipated Kayana Awards Program took place on July 10, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the prestigious Sarit Expo Centre. This event honored the outstanding achievements of female entrepreneurs in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector across various categories, showcasing their innovation, resilience, and commitment to community impact,” it stated.
