Safaricom seeks to transition dividend payments online

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 18 – Safaricom is urging all shareholders to update their contact information and dividend payment details through Image Registrars Ltd.

This update includes converting to electronic payment methods, such as bank transfers or mobile M-Pesa, for more efficient transactions.

Shareholders receiving cheques are encouraged to provide their bank account or registered M-Pesa details for future payments.

Those with CDSC accounts should update their details with their stockbrokers.

The updated information will be used to pay outstanding and future dividends more efficiently.

This comes at a time when customers have been experiencing slow payments of dividends associated with cheque payments that take time to reflect in their accounts.
