Kibera residents set to enjoy cheaper internet connectivity

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 10 – The Ahadi Wireless in collaboration with Livelihood Impact Fund have launched an initiative to provide affordable internet connectivity to the residents of Kibera, Nairobi County.

According to the Director of Ahadi Wireless Johnstone Namusasi, an expanded affordable internet connectivity in the area will enable more people to access a diverse range of information on what is going on around the world.

“The cost of the internet in Kenya is costly and expensive, and most people living in lowland areas cannot afford to have internet in their homes. We want these people to have experience in having quality internet at affordable rates which will help them have access to information on what is happening around the world,” he stated.

According to the project manager at Livelihood Impact Fund Daniel Muthama, the project will not only bring a more accessible internet connectivity to the local people but also excavate more job opportunities and improve the livelihood of the people.

The beneficiaries, especially young entrepreneurs, welcomed the initiative, asserting that the initiative will boost their businesses.

“For individuals like Alfred Ochieng , a young entrepreneur who sells Mitumba( Second hand clothes) online, this initiative is a game change . Alfred expressed his optimism, saying that the affordable internet packages will significantly boost his business and encouraged the youths in Kibera to leverage this opportunity to enhance their income,” they stated.
