Pharmacies, healthcare facilities to be connected with SasaPay’s digital payment platforms

NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 16 – Kenyan pharmacies and healthcare facilities will be connected with SasaPay’s digital payment platforms following a deal that was signed today with MedSource, a medical group purchasing organization.

A total of 770 community pharmacies and private healthcare enterprises that serve up to 7 million patients annually will access the services.

“This payments technology is specifically designed for the healthcare industry to simplify processes and reduce costs for hospitals, pharmacies, health systems providers, clinics, consultants and other players in the sector by accelerating their revenue cycle, boost customer satisfaction and collect more,” SasaPay Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer Daniel Njoroge said.

Starting this month, the two organizations have already begun a phased rollout, with SasaPay enlisting MedSource as a healthcare provider on its app.

“Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of our members to improve the management of their businesses and thereby offer more value to Kenyans seeking medical services countrywide,” said MedSource Group Chief Executive Officer Vinod Guptan.

MedSource aggregates healthcare business demands downstream and matches them with those of upstream pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors.

The SasaPay partnership will enable MedSource to unlock business opportunities through multiple seamless financial solutions in a democratized digital marketplace.

“We will help healthcare service providers under the MedSource umbrella to improve payments collection and consequently empower them to take control of their healthcare finances and simplify billing processes with contactless, digital healthcare payment solutions that integrate into their existing workflows,” SasaPay deputy CEO Daniel Njoroge concluded.
