Danish sportswear firm Hummel to open first outlet in Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 10 – Danish sportswear manufacturer Hummel will be opening its first store in Kenya this Saturday.

Nairobi’s store, which will be located at Westgate Mall,  becomes its third in the East African (EA) region after Rwanda and Uganda.

The brand, which has been brought to Kenya by WAMA International Group, has more than 30 outlets across the world.

Hummel is optimistic that its entry into Kenya will be successful, owing to Kenya’s diverse products and being an EA business gateway.

“Hummel’s brand story is built behind Character which saturates the way all Hummel’s products are made, each product expresses its own story and character and the same goes for every team and individual player sponsored by the brand,” says a statement by the sportswear manufacturer.

Hummel is an internationally renowned manufacturer of sports apparel for football, rugby, futsal, handball, basketball, shinty, volleyball, and e-sports teams.

The company also makes luxury lounging apparel and children’s footwear under its fashion sub-brand, Hummel HIVE.

Hummel says it seeks to work with several local sports clubs within the country through partnerships in an array of activities.
