Tetra Pack joins PAKPRO, seeks to provide environmentally friendly products

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 24 – Tetra Pack East Africa has joined the Packaging Produce Organization (PAKPRO) to drive the collection and recycling of wastepaper in the country.

Joining the organization was informed by the company’s desire to increase the collection and recycling of liquid board packaging (LBP) in Kenya.

The company further observes that they are in line with the government’s directive on waste management and have pledged to support the government on sustainable waste management.

Tetra Pack further lauded the government on the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), indicating that it is an important step in improving waste management policies.

“Our commitment is towards people and the environment which is connected to producing responsible products. “said Jonathan Kinisu, Tetra Pack East Africa Managing Director.

He added that the beverage industry believes that packaging contributes to mitigating the biggest global challenge, climate change.

The company adds that the collaboration with the packaging industry is also anchored towards strengthening the value chain and downscaling the impact of climate change by producing packages that do not harm the environment.
