NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 23 – German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim has opened a new scientific office in Nairobi that will serve as its sub-Saharan Africa headquarters.
The new office will help the company expand its presence in the region.
Boehringer Ingelheim India, the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa Regional Managing Director and Head of Human Pharma Mohammed Tawil said the firm is committed to improving human and animal health across Africa.
‘’Our presence here will enable us to better understand the needs of the local communities and work in partnership with healthcare providers and regulators to bring healthcare solutions in areas of unmet medical need,’’ Tawil said.
He added that they are dedicated to making a positive impact on the health and well-being of patients, animals, and communities at large, and they believe that the investment in Kenya is an important step towards achieving that goal.

Marseille Onyango, Head of Human Pharma for Sub-Saharan Africa, added that they aim to deliver global best practices and innovative therapies to address the ongoing health requirements of patients and animals locally and across the region.
