NAIROBI, Kenya, May 30 — Tala, Kenya’s leading Fintech credit provider, has appointed Jimmy Gathage as the Director of Engineering under Tala Kenya.
This is one of the many high profile hires that the digital credit provider has brought in as it continues its growth in the market, establishing its foothold as a leader in the fintech market.
Jimmy has more than 13 years of experience in multiple IT domains spanning IT Operations, Software Engineering, IT Project Management and Cyber security.
He spent 11 years in banking and fintech industries undertaking projects for financial service providers across the continent.
He also worked on the first crowd-funding platform in Africa and was one of the first engineers to build mobile and agency banking solutions for financial institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University and several certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), the only Certified Software Security Lifecycle Professional ( CSSLP) in Kenya and Prince 2 Project Management. Jimmy is also the current leader of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Nairobi Chapter and a member of ISC2.
