Qatar Airways named airline of the year by Skytrax

Qatar, Doha, Sept 29 – Qatar airways was named airline of the year during the World airline awards 2021 held by the international air transport rating organization, Skytrax organization.

The awards, considered to be the Oscars of the Aviation Industry, are awarded to airlines that, through traveler’s votes, are considered to showcase high performance and quality service to its customers.

The survey was carried out from September 2019 to July 2021 among more than 350 global airlines.

Skytrax Chief Executive Officer, Edward Plaisted said that the airline proved to be the best due to its continued quality services offered to customers despite the presence of the pandemic.

“Voted by customers, the focus of our annual survey is for travelers to make their own, personal choices as to which airline they consider to be best, and it is clear that Qatar Airways has maintained its high standards of innovation and service standards, both in more normal times and through the current global pandemic,” Plaisted said.

Qatar further took home the world’s best business class, world’s best business class airline lounge, world’s best business class airline seat, world’s best business class onboard catering as well as the best airline in the Middle East awards.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar al-Baker credited the success to the airline’s unconditioned priority towards customer’s needs and preferences.

“Our constant commitment to our passengers is to provide unrivaled experiences when they travel with Qatar Airways and these awards acknowledge that we continue to get this right,” Akbar said.

Qatar continues to prove itself in the aviation industry, having won the main award six times; in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019, and now 2021
