NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 14 – Former Nation Media Chief Executive has been appointed the Chair of the ARM Cement Board following the retirement of Wilfred Murungi.
Deputy Managing Director Surendra Bhatia has also retired from the position effective immediately with Thiery Metro tapped as non-executive, non-independent director.
Gitahi is currently the chairman of Tropical Brands and Oxygen Marketing Communications.
“The Board of Directors take this opportunity to extend its gratitude to the outgoing Chairman of the company and Deputy Managing Director for their immense contribution to the company and wish them the very best in all their future endeavours,” the board said.
The Board says it has identified a new Chief Executive and is at an advanced contractual negotiation to finalize the contract of the employment.
“Once appointed, the new CEO will join the board and an announcement to that effect will be communicated accordingly,” the Board noted.
