Respect the Hustle: From selling t-shirts to dressing celebs

Mitch Wear

Would you quit an auditing job at a successful consultancy firm to go establish a clothes branding company? That’s exactly what Dickson Michuki did earlier this year.

The KCA University graduate of Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance walked away from his job to establish Mitch Wear Company – a company that brands ‘hoodies’, t-shirts, caps and other similar merchandise.

Derived from his name Michuki, Mitch Wear Company is the 26 year old’s brainchild and a fulfillment of his University dream.

He explains that he first fell in love with the job when studying at KCA where he would sell branded t-shirts for his peers at a fee.

Amidst the challenges he has been facing as any new start-up, Michuki has been able to dress some of Kenya’s biggest entertainers such as DJ Joe Mfalme, DnG and Amina among others.

In our sixth episode of Respect the Hustle, Dickson Michuki explains to us how he started Mitch Wear, why he started it and how anyone, including women, can wear a ‘hoodie’.
