Rupu deals available on Capital

, NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 17 – Capital Group Limited and Rupu Limited have announced a partnership that will enable the group to offer exclusive advertising deals under its local media brand names and website, powered by Rupu.

While announcing the partnership that will offer deeply discounted buying opportunities, Capital Group General Manager Cyrus Kamau said the pact was another way to attract audience to the Capital websites and also create a new revenue stream for the firm.

“We are pleased to add Rupu-powered deals to our portfolio of new digital advertising services. Capital FM has achieved tremendous success over the past few years attracting thousands of Kenyans both locally and abroad to our website on a daily basis,” said the GM.

Capital FM’s locally branded deal is called the “Capital Deals.” Consumers can subscribe on to receive an e-mail alert with the details of each deal.

The deals also are shared on the Capital FM Facebook page and @capital_fm Twitter feed.

“Advertisers like this new form of promotion because they pay only when consumers redeem their offer. Consumer redemption also provides retailers with valuable local foot traffic,” Kamau pointed out.

With this pact, Capital FM becomes the country’s first media platform to offer the service through its website which is a fast-growing informational portal that features news, business, sports, lifestyle content, that is leading the way in terms of local digital content.

Rupu-powered deals require a minimum number of redemptions for a deal to become active, which encourages consumers to share the promotion with their contacts via e-mail or social media, further heightening awareness of the advertiser’s offer.

Rupu also provides daily deals and discounts under its own name on and have done so with great success over the last one year.

“Rupu is excited to partner with Capital FM and provide local merchants with a major alternative website where they can run additional deals,” said Ben Maina, Rupu’s Chief Executive Officer.

Under the partnership, Rupu sales representatives negotiate the deals with local advertisers. Rupu also produces the creative for each daily promotion and Capital FM distributes the e-mail alerts to its subscribers who have signed up to receive them.
