There is a new standard of luxury quietly rising from the heart of the Maasai Mara – and it is called Pristine Mara Bay Lodge. Nestled within 25 acres of untouched wilderness along the iconic Maasai Mara River, this ultra-luxury retreat is redefining the safari experience through a seamless fusion of refined hospitality, purposeful sustainability and deeply immersive wilderness encounters.
Fifty rooms in total make up the Pristine experience – each one a considered choice. The main lodge houses 44 rooms across a range of categories: 23 that open to the sweeping savanna and 17 that face the Mara River directly, plus four expansive family suites designed for those who travel together but refuse to compromise on space. Crowning the property is the Presidential House – a self-contained sanctuary of six ultra-luxury suites reserved for guests who require nothing less than everything. For those who wish to claim Pristine entirely as their own, a full lodge buyout opens the doors to up to 106 guests – making it as natural a setting for a landmark celebration as it is for a deeply private escape.

Luxury Rooted In Nature
The property offers 44 luxurious rooms, including four expansive family suites and an extraordinary Presidential House.
“Pristine” stems from the virgin nature of the land,” says General Manager Ronald Leyian, reflecting the lodge’s identity as a place shaped by its untouched setting.
Throughout the main areas, acacia tree-inspired beams echo the surrounding landscape, while grass- thatched rooftops naturally regulate indoor temperatures and reinforce the lodge’s connection to the environment.
Sustainability Rooted In Wilderness And Purpose
Deep in the bush, many luxury camps rely heavily on diesel-powered generators. Pristine Mara Bay Lodge took a different path. The entire lodge runs on renewable solar energy, powered by more than 1,300 solar panels connected to a high-capacity battery storage system with the autonomy to sustain operations for up to 48 hours without a single ray of sunlight.

Single-use plastics have been eliminated entirely — from guest amenities to daily operations. In their place, guests find thoughtfully curated natural wooden room amenities and eco-friendly toiletries made from organic, biodegradable materials that sit as comfortably on a bathroom shelf as they do on the conscience. Inside the guest rooms, comfort is drawn not from mechanical air conditioning alone, but from natural Manyatta-inspired cooling systems — a nod to traditional Maasai architectural wisdom — that channel airflow through the structures, keeping interiors cool and connected to the rhythms of the surrounding bush.
Water sustainability is built into the property’s very foundations. Rainwater harvesting systems feed on- site reservoirs for a dependable supply, while a state-of-the-art reverse osmosis plant provides purification and filtration for all water used across the property. Biodegradable waste is managed through a rigorous eco-responsible system designed to return as much as possible to the earth — without harm. “We are using what nature has generously bestowed,” says General Manager Ronald Leiyan.

This reverence for the natural world finds one of its most striking expressions in the lodge’s swimming pools. The main adult pool stretches 10 metres, while a remarkable 25-metre winding pool meanders through the grounds — its unusual shape a deliberate design choice to accommodate the mature trees that grow along its path. Rather than fell a single tree, the architects curved the pool around them, turning each trunk into an organic architectural feature.
Conservation Beyond Hospitality
Nature conservation is woven into every corner of the property. Indigenous flora is carefully maintained throughout the grounds, and wildlife is actively protected within and around the lodge boundaries. The result is a living landscape — one where guests may encounter hippos in the river, giraffes, elephants, zebras and antelopes not just on a game drive, but from their veranda at dawn. Guests move quietly across the lodge in electric buggies, reducing fossil fuel usage and reinforcing the property’s low- impact approach. The lodge is designed to coexist with — not compete against — the natural world.
Community Empowerment At Its Core

Over 70% of staff are drawn from the local Maasai community, growing and training the local talent pool to Pristine’s exacting hospitality standards. The lodge partners with Maasai Mara University and surrounding colleges for refresher training and practical industry exposure. A planned in-house learning centre and staff library will continuously invest in the long-term empowerment of local talent — ensuring that the community which has long been the soul of this landscape becomes equally the backbone of its future.
The Presidential House Experience

The Presidential House is Pristine’s crowning jewel — a private residence featuring six ultra-luxury suites, a private kitchenette with exclusive Chef and Butler services, a private spa and sauna, and an infinity pool overlooking panoramic views of the Mara wilderness. It offers a fully personalized luxury safari experience curated around privacy, indulgence and bespoke hospitality.

Wellness By The Wild
The lodge’s Main Spa offers rejuvenating treatments designed to restore body and mind, drawing inspiration from the calming energy of the Mara. A fully equipped gym provides a world-class fitness experience with the African wilderness as its backdrop. This holistic wellness philosophy is inspired by the calming rhythm of the wilderness – where guests can unwind, reconnect and rejuvenate amidst the serenity of the Mara.
Eight Vantage Points. Infinite Stories.
