A splendid Chivas Regal experience in Nairobi; an evening of food, fashion & cocktails

One of the most highly rewarding and memorable dining experiences, is a whisky and food pairing dinner. It is a rich harmonious art with the aim of maximizing the sensory pleasure that is both valid, exciting and equally stimulating. Good food and good whisky have always been a great combination.

On Friday May 28th 2021, Chivas Regal, the world’s first luxury whisky hosted an exclusive invite only dinner at The Social House, Lavington celebrating Africaness through fashion, music and a culinary experience like no other which culminated into the official unveiling of a collaboration done with a very special local creative, Imani Migwi of House of Manciny.

Chivas believes that blended is better, in life and in Scotch. The original luxury blended Scotch whisky, Chivas’ belief in blending was instilled by founding brothers, James and John Chivas, who pioneered the art of blending in 19th century Scotland. Since then, Chivas has been integral to the growth of the Scotch whisky category worldwide – by bringing together the best malt and grain whiskies to create something extraordinary.

Guests who included media personalities, journalists and social media influencers, were treated to a journey of a sophisticated blended culinary experience with Chivas Regal, where each dish and its paired whisky, was poetically described and every sense enticed through the evening. This dinner was a great way to discover how refined pairs can blossom on the palate to bring new life to how the brand is experienced and used by to inspire, create and enjoy.

It was also an evening that marked the release and showcase of Imani Migwi’s beautiful designs in partnership with Chivas Regal, a campaign that brought together different African designers in a quest to create a collection of premium African leisurewear as part of a football and Chivas inspired collection, which complements street football culture amplified by the iconic Manchester United Football Club. Migwi’s inspiration is the Chivas signifier – a powerful, yet playful form of expression that is worked into the pieces and the bespoke fabric, breathing life into her collection.

The Chivas Afroblend campaign takes a firm position in its words ‘success is a blend’; it’s collaborations across the Kenya, Cameroon and Zambia markets have brought African pride, fashion and creativity to life through its experience.

From its home of Strathisla Distillery in Speyside, Scotland, Chivas now reaches more than 150 countries across the globe, who together have made Chivas the global success it is today, selling more than 4.2 million 9L cases every year. It has fortified its reputation through a blend of great taste, stellar quality and rich history that dates back to 1801.
