Solange Knowles’ multicultural hub, Saint Heron, announced on Thursday that it will be collaborating with IKEA on an upcoming collection.
Solange founded Saint Heron in 2013 with the aim of building a community through music, visual art and performance art mediums. A collection with IKEA only feels like a natural extension to this multi-dimentional take on art and creativity.
While there’s little information on what the collaboration will include, Saint Heron did reveal in a statement that they are eager to explore “architectural and design objects with multifunctional use.”
Fans on Twitter were quick to express their excitement. Solange is known to push boundaries when it comes to music, beauty, fashion and performance, so this collaboration is bound to be one of a kind.
This isn’t the first time IKEA has partnered up with artists to create a limited collection. Marcus Engman, the head of design at Ikea Range & Supply, said in a statement, “At IKEA we are curious about the creative space in between architecture, design, art, and music and how that could come alive in the homes of the many people. This is what we want to explore together with Saint Heron.”
One thing is for sure, this collection is sure to blow our minds.
