The complete list of the 2014 Kalasha film and TV Awards winners

The 2014 Kalasha Film and TV Awards gala took place  this past Friday that saw who is who in entertainment and the film industry fraternity in attendance. The Kalasha Awards are in their 5th Edition this year. The event was graced by the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture & Arts Dr. Hassan Wario and was hosted by emcees for the night Jeff Koinange and Patricia Amira. National Museums of Kenya on 25th July 2014 was the place to be.

This year’s Kalasha Awards attracted 713 entries, a whooping 516 entries over and above the 197 received in last year’s Kalasha Awards. The 2014 Kalasha Film and TV Awards had 33 categories with new categories in Best Mobile Film and Best High School Feature.

The Kalasha Film & TV Awards are the brain-child of Kenya Film Commission and are designed to allow Kenyans to celebrate their cultural diversity through film and to recognize the role of film in economic sustainability. The Awards seek to challenge local filmmakers, towards quality film productions.

KFC is mandated by the Government to market Kenya as a filming destination to both local and international film markets. The Commission specifically promotes the production of local content and the expansion of local audience.
