Saturday’s “Couture D’Afrique” show, held in Johannesburg, courtesy of AFI Prive in Assosciation with PUMA SELECT certainly ignited everyone’s love affair with luxury African fashion.
Officially launched during Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in March 2015, AFI Privé’s focus on expertly curated exclusive ready-to-wear collections and accessories from Africa led to an impressive lineup for the 2016 Couture D’Afrique show during the Spring/Summer Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Joburg.
Ann McCreath represented Kenya with her newest collection for KikoRomeo, whilst other designers from Africa: Tina Lobondi (DRCongo), Mina Evans (Ghana), Otinguema by Jessica Nguema-Metoule (Gabon), Adama Paris (Senegal), Osuare Egbuonu (Nigeria), Ciss Saint Moïse (Côte d’Ivoire), Soraya da Piedade (Angola), Sheria Ngowi (Tanzania), MaXhosa by Laduma(South Africa), and Haute Baso brought to you by Air Rwanda(Rwanda) – also lit up the ramp.
