BBA: Karen and Wendall get it!

August 1, 2011 – Let me start by asking, who is Wendall? He was the surprise winner at last night’s Big Brother Amplified finale, bagging $200,000 alongside the more obvious winner Karen from Nigeria.

All eyes were on Luclay, who was the third last evictee after Lomwe and Sharon O, but he lucked out securing only two country votes.

Karen has six country votes behind her namely Nigeria, Angola, Rest of Africa, Ghana, Mozambique, and Tanzania. Wendall (Zim) was the next best thing with Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Kenya behind him.

Karen dropped in shock when she was announced winner, and W immediately ran to hug his mum in the excitement – since both were oblivious to the fact that there would be two winners this year.

The finale closed the doors to two studios houses, millions of fans across the continent now need a new past-time and housemates return to their normal lives after 91 days of accentuated drama.

Each of the seven finalists however received $10,000 just for making it to the finals.

Vina received zero country votes and was evicted first. Hanni, Lomwe and Sharon O received one country vote each and were also evicted. Luclay received 2 country votes.

Personally I know only one Kenyan (@chanty8220) who voted for good-guy Wendall. Bets had been placed on the gorgeous Sharon O and the bro-mantic cry baby Luclay.

Meanwhile, the amplified finale was graced by several musicians; Wizkid, Mo’Cheddah, Cpwaa, and Fally Ipupa, who performed alongside performances by the Amplified Dance crew.

My favourite was Professor featuring Speedy (SA) with their track Lento. Check it out below… Is this a perfect ending for Big Brother Amplified?
