Nigerian music icon Tiwa Savage has revealed some exciting news to her fans: her highly anticipated album is finally on the way!
The new project, titled This One is Personal, will be released on August 29th. It follows her soulful 2021 EP, Water & Garri. She recently released her first single off the upcoming album titled ‘You4Me’.

The ‘All Over’ singer shared a heartfelt announcement on social media, providing a glimpse into the journey behind the creation of her new music.
In her post, Tiwa emphasized the personal nature of this album, describing it as a reflection of her emotional journey over the past two years. The album was recorded in several cities around the world, including Nashville, Malibu, San Francisco, London, and Lagos. Savage describes the process as deeply emotional, with “blood, sweat, and literal tears included.”
She explained that some tracks were born from challenging and painful moments, while others were inspired by brighter times. Yet, every song and every vibe carries an element of her personal experience. In her own words, “Every single song, every single vibe is something I went through.” This indicates that the album will showcase Tiwa’s vulnerability and authenticity, two qualities that have resonated with her fans throughout her career.
The singer made it clear that this album is not about proving anything to anyone. Rather, it’s about pouring her heart into her music and sharing her emotions through the notes and melodies. “This record isn’t about proving anything to anyone, it is me pouring my emotions in notes and creating music from my heart,” she wrote.
Tiwa also revealed that releasing the album into the world feels like sharing a piece of her heart with her fans. As she puts it, “love is to be shared,” and this album is a reflection of that sentiment.
The 45-year-old mother of one is one of the most successful and influential artists in Afrobeats, widely recognized for her versatility as a singer, songwriter, and performer. Her music blends Afrobeats with R\&B, pop, and other genres, earning her a global fanbase and critical acclaim.

Savage made her international debut in 2010 with the release of her first single, “Kele Kele Love,” which immediately captured the attention of listeners. This success led to the signing of a record deal with the UK-based label, Mavin Records, under which she released her debut album Once Upon a Time in 2013. The album featured hits like “Love Me (3X)” and “Eminado,” both of which became anthems in Africa and beyond.
Her sophomore album, R.E.D (2015), solidified her place as a top-tier African artist. Tracks like “If I Start to Talk” and “My Darlin” showcased her signature fusion of Afrobeat rhythms and Western influences. She also began collaborating with some of the biggest names in the global music scene, including Wizkid, Beyoncé, and Drake, further expanding her reach. In 2019, Tiwa Savage released Celia, a highly anticipated album named after her mother. This album featured standout tracks like “49-99” and “Dangerous Love” and was praised for its storytelling and rich blend of Afrobeat and contemporary pop sounds.
