NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 17 – The Newly enlisted National Youth Service (NYS) recruits are now expected to report to training institutions from next week.
According to NYS Kenya, the admission of the recruits in the training institutions will kick off on Monday.
“As we prepare to receive the recently enlisted recruits expected to report to our training institutions from Monday next week, this morning we held prayers at the Paramilitary Academy Gilgil,” NYS stated on X.
“ It takes the hand of God to train, transform, empower, and develop young Kenyan Citizens,” it added.
This I after the completion of the five-day r National Youth service recruitment drive, WHICH commences on February, 5 to 9th where the government enlisted more than 15, 000 recruits both men and women into the service in the five-day exercise.
Earlier this month, The cabinet secretary Ministry of Public Service Moses Kuria affirmed that 80% of the recruits will be absorbed into the National Police Service, Kenya Defence Forces, Kenya Wildlife Service, and Kenya Forestry Service after their training in line with the president’s directive.
He further stated that the government aims to export National Youth Service men and women Overseas stating that the process is underway to begin the facilitation of passport issuing at the NYS headquarters in Ruaraka.
“NYS is at the heart of the government’s current Labour Export Programme. We plan to export NYS servicemen and women overseas. The Labour Export process is underway as we have already begun facilitating the issuing of passports at NYS Headquarters in Ruaraka,” he stated on X.
