Dillah Acelle, the rising star of African fashion, was officially crowned Africa’s Next Super Model 2025 at a spectacular grand finale held at Nairobi’s Broadwalk Mall on Saturday, November 22.
The stunning Chadian model captivated the judges and audience and was presented a cheque of $5,000 by Mr Chris Oputa from the Studio 24, which has been supportive pillar to Africa’s Next Super Model. This opportunity will also secure her an exclusive global exposure, along with the opportunity to work with luxury international fashion brands.

Acelle emerged victorious from a pool of 16 exceptional contestants from across the African continent. Her unique charm, grace, and runway prowess set her apart, following in the footsteps of Chol Nyang, who won the title in 2024. The auspicious event kicked off with the Kenyan National Anthem, followed by a heartfelt moment of silence to honour Air Vice-Marshall Terry Okorodudu, the late husband of Joan Okorodudu, founder of Isis Models. Joan, unable to attend due to her personal loss, was deeply present in spirit. Her moving tribute to her late husband was played on
the screen, and the crowd responded with visible emotion. Joan, the visionary force behind Africa’s Next Super Model, has been instrumental in bringing this platform to life and propelling it to its current prominence.

Notably, renowned media personality Nailantei Kenga once again hosted the event, stepping in for the bereaved founder of the Pan-African fashion event, while BBC senior reporter Ata Ahli co-hosted alongside her key figures from the creative sector were also present to celebrate the event, including Mr. Collins Okoth from the Kenya Film Commission, who lauded the competition’s impact on the creative economy. Mumias East MP Peter Salasya was also in attendance.

“We believe in fostering an environment where creatives in Kenya and across Africa can turn their talents into careers, their passions into livelihoods, and their dreams into global successes,” said Mr. Okoth. Also gracing the occasion was Mr Cornell McBride, President of Design Essentials, who expressed continued support
for the creative industry through his partnership with Isis Models. This marked his second year attending the event, further cementing his commitment to empowering African talent. Additionally, Daima Mkenya Africa, founded by Mrs
Zahra Balewah Moi, showcased their patriotic fabric featuring the Kenyan flag, adding a cultural touch to the celebration.

This year’s judging panel had a clear vision for the winner. The judges were especially impressed by Acelle’s exceptional confidence, poise, and professionalism, traits that have become the hallmark of the competition. “Her confidence was unparalleled,” said Matteo Puglisi, CEO of Select Models Management, who was among the esteemed judges. “She showed professionalism in every challenge and grew significantly throughout the competition. It was clear she was destined for greatness.”

After victory, Acelle, 22, shared her excitement and reflected on the significance of her achievement: “I’m so excited to have won this competition. This is not just a win for me, but for every young girl who aspires to break into the fashion world. I hope my journey inspires them and shows that anything is possible with hard work, confidence, and perseverance. This win is for every dreamer, every girl who dares to aim high.”
Notably, Kenyan model Lilian Amoni, also made a strong impression at the event, securing a spot in the top six.
