Movember, the month dedicated to raising awareness of men’s health issues such as Prostate Cancer, has come and gone for yet another year. This year’s campaign, especially in Kenya, was a great success and saw the inaugural Beard Festival captivate the attention of the public and also different sectors including the popular gaming industry.

Launched in 2006, Betway Group is a leading provider of first-class entertainment across sports betting, casino, bingo and poker. As one of the principal sponsors of the Beard Festival, which took place at the Nairobi Arboretum Grounds, Betway is the first in the Kenyan gaming industry to support cancer awareness.

In most cases, there are numerous cancer awareness campaigns but with limitations to types of cancer that mostly affect women such as Breast and Cervical Cancer; those that affect mostly men like Prostate Cancer are rarely given the same attention.

The Beard Festival’s main aim was to create an environment for everyone where they could have an amazing time dancing to great tunes, learn about the bearded community, and also understand the goal of international campaigns such as #NoShaveNovember also known as Movember where supporters embrace their hair and let it grow freely in solidarity of cancer patients who usually end-up suffering from hair loss.

The Beard Festival featured popular deejays such as Dj Andre, Dj Creme, Dj Vin, Dj UV, Dj Sadic, Dj Kace, and Dj Shugah.
