February 8, 2010 – Kenya’s Diana Nekoye was out of luck this weekend. The Face of Africa 2010 crown she had her eyes set on was whisked away by Zambia’s Lukando Nalungwe.
Lukando emerged tops during the FOA final in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday, announced by former FOA winner Oluchi Onweagba.
Tears of joy streamed down Lukando’s cheeks as her former competitors, all dressed in elegant black outfits, hugged their congratulations.
The event was attended by a number of celebrities and politicians, with performances by from Naija’s D’Banj and South Africa’s Lira.
22 year old Nalungwe is currently studying business administration in Kabwe, Zambia and won $50,000 dollars, plus an international modelling contract with O Model Africa.
She is meant to fly straight to New York this week for the fashion week there.
Diana also lucked out of the top five; leaving it to Ernania Manuel (Mozambique), Rosanna Hall (Zimbabwe), Thembi Kobeli (South Africa) and Esperanca Vemba of Angola.
We’ll ask Diana what she is going to be doing now and let you know shortly…
