Barbados beauty Rihanna has launched a new fundraiser drive online, to improve girls access to education in Malawi. The “Work” crooner who started up the Clara Lionel Foundation in honor of her grandmother, now hopes to improve the state of the education sector in Malawi with The Dollar Campaign.
Robin Fenty also known as Riri has also been in talks with the French President Emmanuel Macron to help in her joint efforts with the Fund Education program with Global Citizen. Visiting Malawi in early June 2017, it seems the exposure to the education system lead Rihanna to work towards long-term solutions.

The fundraiser dabbed “The Dollar Campaign” hopes to encourage the public to donate a dollar or more to the cause. According to a recent post on the Clara Lionel Foundation website, the sum raised goes to help the girls of Malawi:
$1 – could provide 1 brick to a school in Malawi
$5 – could provide 5 bricks to a school in Malawi
$10 – could provide 10 books
$15 – could provide a girl with essential school supplies
$20 – could provide a month of schooling for a girl

To encourage donations from the public there are some great giveaways for those generous enough to give to the cause. The Dollar Campaign is set to end with an epic concert, the Diamond Ball hosted by legendary comedian Dave Chapelle, with Kendric Lamar and Calvin Harris performing on stage. According to an article on The Vibe site, a press release mentioned the initiative will give those who donate a chance to win a ticket to the third annual Diamond Ball, set to take place in NYC on Sept. 14. Throughout the course of the fundraiser (which will occur from Aug. 23-Sept. 5), one person will be selected as the winner and attend the Diamond Ball alongside a friend. The press release shares that âroundtrip airfare to and from New York City, and one night hotel accommodations,â will also be awarded.
