Mother’s Day: Barack Obama, Will Smith, Bahati and more share touching messages that will melt your heart

Mother’s Day was a success, and for many it was a time to reflect and appreciate the special role mothers paly in molding a life.

The annual calendar holiday which took place yesterday (12.05.2019) saw many celebrate their mothers and the very special role they have played in their lives. For those who have lost a mother, it was a time of reflection and a reminder to live up to who their mother’s hoped they would be.

Here are some of the most moving Mother’s Day messages:

Award-winning actor Will Smith shared the best part of their simple, honest relationship, as Jada posed for a picture. Jada also took to Instagram to thank her mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones saying, “the journey we have been taking together has been so healing and joyous. I’m enjoying getting to know you beyond being my mother. I love you💫.” She also went on to appreciate all mothers, urging them to take care of themselves writing, “⁣⁣⁣Being a mom is one of the most important jobs on the planet but that doesn’t mean we have to throw ourselves away in order to get the job done.💗”

EMB Records executive Bahati also thanked his wife Diana Marua for all she does for their children Morgana and Heaven. Taking to the Gram, he wrote Happy Mother’s Day to pen a loving letter for her. Bahati wrote,  ” Dear Diana, You’re a Gem, You’re Precious, You’re a Pillar to Our Family, You’re My Prayer Partner, Thank you for giving me a Chance to be Called a Father. Thank you for Being the Best Mum to my Kids. In this World, no one comes above you. You’re Part of My Heart and Soul… HAPPY MOTHERS DAY LOVE. He went on to that all mothers for their sacrifice saying, “all Women playing this role tirelessly… at the end of the day, no one else can do it better, you are doing the best you can.”

Lifestyle blogger Joy Kendi also posted a few photographs of her mum. The throwback pictures featured her elegantly dressed mother in her prime. Joy sweetly captioned the picture, “To the world, you are a mother to us you are our world. Happy Mother’s Day mommy.”

Though she is far from home, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o also took out some time to reminisce on her best memories with her mother. She wrote, “I have such sweet memories of my mother reading books to me as a young girl. Goldilocks and the Three Bears was always a favorite. To my mama bear, you are just right!”

Radio host Adelle Onyango also took to social media to celebrate her mother who passed away years ago. Her emotional post led many to appreciate their mothers, before its too late. She wrote, “I’m not doing too badly this mother’s day – ok I may have snapped unnecessarily earlier but I think part of me is envious of all your living mothers. Which is ok and human…⁣⁣To all of you whose mothers are also angels, I’m sending you love and hugs. ”

Probably one of the most touching Mother’s Day posts was by legendary producer Tedd Josiah. His wife Reginah Katar’s sudden death in September 2017 has seen Josiah taken on the role as a full-time single father to their daughter Jay. His emotional post read, “This is JayJay’s 2nd Mother’s Day without you… It feels……. numbing, as I reflect on the mother you were and the way this child was a joy to you and brought out a beautiful side of you….. Like many mothers, you will watch over us from heaven, am sure you will sometimes worry over her, and wish she could see you…Happy Mother’s Day to an Angel up above Reginah Katar 👼🏼👼🏼💕”
