Coronavirus has taken over headlines, becoming the main topic of news features and daily conversation. And so, its no wonder that musician has also taken inspiration from the global pandemic that started in Wuhan, to create some interesting much that will at least put a smile on your face.
Jimmy Gait feat Mr. Favour – Corona
Controversial Gospel star Jimmy Gait offers a message of encouragement with his latest release ‘Corona’. The track shares some signs and symptoms and most importantly implores listeners to wash their hands and avoid touching their faces. The track is a more serious take on the viral disease, far different from the comic release most tracks have offered. Gait sings ‘everything alright’ giving hope the scared and concern that God is in control. The track has more than 20K views since its release on March 13th.
DannyP Mboka – Coronavirus
The track was released on March 5th, and went viral with re-posts from various public figures including news anchor Betty Kyallo due to its interesting Kamba vernacular sound, with the visuals featuring an interesting dance with characters wearing masks. The track is a cry to God to save the nation of Kenya from the respiratory virus Corona.
DannyP also pointed President Kenyatta should not to allow Chinese nations into the country, insisting that in doing so he is putting Kenyans at risk. The young gospel artist makes a call for all to pray, uplifting society to remain hopeful. The track has more than 100K since its release.
Cardi B – Coronavirus
The track is an outtake from Cardi B’s recent Instagram rant. She posted on the picture-sharing platform about her fears, urging her followers to take the threat of Coronavirus seriously. According to The Sauce, The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hit maker even claimed she’d started hoarding supplies to make sure she’s prepared.
The viral parody by iMarkkeyz now has a dance and has even been remixed by several producers including Kenya’s Magix Enga. The visuals of the viral release include various clips of celebrities dancing to the dope beat, which offers comic relief during this tough period.
Yofrangel – Corona Virus
Dominican artist Yofrangel was among the first acts to drop a single inspired by the release. The track garnered the attention of Cardi B in the last few days but was released in early February.
According to Billboard, the singer is shown shaking in the back of an ambulance as he reminds fans to “cover your mouth” amid a list of typical symptoms.
The track is a banger, with a reggae-tone flair that will have anyone dancing alone during this self quarantine era. The track has more than 4M hits on YouTube.
