I’m not sure if the “interior re-styling of your home” bug that most people caught during the onset of the pandemic skipped you. You know, when we all had to work from home and therefore had to make our homes more conducive because we now had to spend a lot of time in our homes? That bug did not skip me. And because of that bug, I learnt ways to switch things up in my apartment and make it look like money without having a lot of the said money and without worrying much about my bank account.
Since caught that bug, I did all the thinking and researching so you wouldn’t have to and, if you have been looking for ways to spruce up your living space and make it look all luxe and like you’ve got all the money in the world and without breaking the bank, here you go…

1. Declutter your space
Any space that is devoid of clutter will automatically look great. The thing with a neatly, organized space is that it will also do something for your brain. You will feel relaxed and like you just want to spend more time in that space. Not only that, it will make your space look expensive.

2. Steam your curtains
Steaming your curtains will definitely give your curtains and your space a certain vibe. They will automatically liven up a space and make it look like money. I can compare this to wearing creased clothes Vs well-ironed clothes. The latter will make you look like you have a clue about what you’re doing on this earth while the former will make you look broke and tired. Take your pick!

3. Float your furniture
Floating furniture simply means arranging your furniture, especially your sofa/couch, away from the walls making sure there is some space between your furniture and the wall. The impact this has on your space is that your space will look much bigger and airier and like there is so much space to perambulate about and as we all know, a big house = money.

4. Layer your Throw Pillows
The layering of throw pillows will make you look like you have a clue about interior styling while giving your space an elegant look. The trick is to play around with color, different pillow sizes, patterns, and textures. Remember not to overdo it though as this might end up making your space look tacky.

5. Install Light fixtures
Light fixtures have a way of instantly transforming your space from drab to fab in the blink of an eye, therefore it is advisable to take your time and choose your light fixtures wisely. Light fixtures are a sure way to make your home distinguishable from your neighbors in a very dramatic but very chic way.

6. Establish Symmetry
Symmetry has a way of making you as a person look balanced and organized. Achieving symmetry will require that you have some level of minimalism going on which in turn will leave your space looking chic and expensive. It is also a good Feng shui practice.

7. Hang your artwork straight
Artwork that’s crooked will just make a space + the owner look sloppy and lazy. Aim to hang your artwork straight and see the difference it will make for your home. That practice will also attract the right kind of attention to your artwork.

8. Introduce different shapes
Shapes make all the difference in a space. Different shapes will excite the eyes while giving your styling ability depth. Break the monotony of squares and rectangles (which are boring) by adding all other shapes randomly around your home.

9. Always make your bed in the morning
Ahh making your bed in the morning is not only a good practice but very beneficial for the overall classy look of your home. Invest in the right bedding and you effortlessly have one expensive-looking home.

10. Add a Dramatic mirror
Mirrors should always feature in your living spaces because they bring with them all sorts of luxurious vibes. Whenever in doubt and you need to make your space look expensive, just add a dramatic mirror to your space. The difference will be immense and your mirror will not only be one of the main attractions in your home but it will also earn you extra stylish points with your guests.
