The NCBA U.S. Kids Golf Kenya Invitational officially got underway today at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club following an opening ceremony that marked the start of three days of competitive junior golf running from December 20 to 22, 2025.
The opening ceremony brought together junior golfers, parents, coaches, officials and partners, offering an opportunity to welcome participants and outline the significance of the tournament, which has become the flagship junior golf event in Kenya. The day featured light golf activations, chipping and putting challenges, and a tree planting exercise as part of the tournament’s sustainability efforts.

A key moment of the ceremony was the raising of national flags representing the participating countries, underscoring the international nature of the event. The 2025 Invitational has attracted junior golfers from nine countries: Kenya, Uganda, Lithuania, India, Thailand, Norway, Nigeria, China and Bulgaria.
The event is organized by the Junior Golf Foundation and supported by title sponsor NCBA Bank, whose partnership has played a central role in the growth of junior golf in Kenya and across the region. Over the past five years, the Invitational has grown into a major fixture on the regional junior golf calendar, drawing strong international participation and raising competitive standards.
Speaking during the ceremony, Junior Golf Foundation President Vincent Mukiri said the Invitational reflects the progress made in junior golf development in Kenya.
“The NCBA U.S. Kids Golf Invitational brings together young golfers from different parts of the world and gives them a platform to compete at a high level. Hosting this event in Kenya shows the confidence that the global junior golf community has in our programs and our ability to deliver world class tournaments,” he said.
The tournament features approximately 113 junior golfers, with World Amateur Golf Ranking points available in the Boys 13 to 14, Boys 15 to 18 and Girls 15 to 18 categories. This provides young players with an important opportunity to earn international ranking points while competing on home soil.
The NCBA U.S. Kids Golf Kenya Invitational continues to serve as a key development platform for junior golfers, offering competitive exposure, international experience and a pathway to higher levels of the game.
