At an exclusive breakfast reception to mark the grand launch, Curio Collection by Hilton recently made its official debut in East Africa with the opening of Kwetu Nairobi. Nestled on the edge of the serene Karura Forest, this boutique hotel perfectly blends rich Kenyan history with modern elegance, offering guests a luxurious experience with a touch of local culture.

During the launch, Guy Hutchinson, President of Hilton’s Middle East and Africa operations, expressed his excitement: “We are thrilled to open Kwetu Nairobi as part of the Curio Collection by Hilton portfolio, joining our other properties in the city. This truly one-of-a-kind hotel will offer guests a unique experience when staying in Nairobi, whether for business or exploring Kenya’s stunning sights and landscapes.”
Kwetu Nairobi features 102 exquisitely designed guest rooms and suites that offer more than just accommodation—they reflect Kenyan heritage. The rooms are adorned with hand-blown glass pendants and bespoke furniture, drawing inspiration from vintage suitcases, while spacious balconies provide breathtaking views of the forest. The hotel merges historical charm with contemporary comforts, creating an inviting haven for travelers seeking a luxurious stay with a personal touch.

Adel Mojarrad, General Manager of Kwetu Nairobi, spoke to the hotel’s unique vision: “Kwetu means ‘our place’ in Swahili, and we want guests to feel as though they’ve come home. This is more than just a hotel—it’s a place where tradition and modern design come together to create a warm, personalized experience for every guest.”
The breakfast launch was well attended by various guests, including Kenya Tourism Board CEO June Chepkemoi, media personalities, industry professionals, among others, reflecting the significance of the occasion.

The history of the land where Kwetu Nairobi was built dates back to the 1800s, paving the way for a one-of-a-kind hotel with a cosy charm, providing an authentic African experience that immerses travellers through its bespoke story. The property was formerly a historic home, turned into a guest house and finally transformed into a modern boutique hotel.
Kwetu Nairobi also offers world-class amenities, including a gym, spa, swimming pool, and 334 square meters of flexible meeting and event spaces. Guests can relax in the inviting lobby bar or explore nearby shopping hubs such as Sarit, Village Market, and Two Rivers.
Jenna Hackett, global brand head, Curio Collection by Hilton, said, “A first for the brand in East Africa, Kwetu Nairobi is the ideal addition to our growing global portfolio of 150 Curio Collection by Hilton properties. This remarkable hotel offers the perfect fusion of nature, city and heritage dating back to the 1800s, and it reflects the brand’s immersive, bespoke character by pairing Kenya’s cultural past with unmatched contemporary comforts and amenities. It’s the perfect stay for travellers seeking a boutique hotel experience in one of Kenya’s most sought-after destinations.”

With its grand opening, Kwetu Nairobi reinforces Hilton’s commitment to expanding in Kenya. As the first Curio Collection hotel in East Africa, it brings together Kenya’s cultural legacy and unmatched contemporary comfort, raising the bar for boutique luxury in the region.
