The spirit of St. Patrick’s Day came alive in a burst of emerald hues at the residence of H.E. Caitríona Ingoldsby, the Ambassador of Ireland to Kenya on Thursday 14th March, 2024. The lively celebration, a testament to the global unity in honoring the patron saint of Ireland, transcended borders and brought together a diverse gathering of Diplomats, Government dignitaries, media, celebrities and members of the business community who joined the festivities, adding a touch of cosmopolitan flair to the Irish revelry. Ireland’s Minister for Agriculture, Food, and Marine, H.E. Mr. Charlie McConalogue and Hon. Franklin Mithika Linturi, the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, both graced the occasion, adding a touch of official grandeur to the celebration.


















The reception was a sensory feast, with the rich aromas of authentic Irish cuisine mingling with the hearty laughter of guests. Tables were adorned with a spread of Irish delicacies, and Jameson, Tanquery, Prosecoo and Guinness flowed freely as conversations flowed, friendships forged, and the spirit of camaraderie lit up the room.






















For over a century, Kenya and Ireland have fostered strong and amicable ties. Irish missionaries, non-governmental organizations, businesses, and individuals have played a pivotal role in various sectors across Kenya, significantly contributing to the improvement of the livelihoods of its citizens.
Collaboration spans diverse fields, including agriculture, health and medical technology, information and communication technology (ICT), construction, financial technology, tourism, clean and renewable energy technologies, education, and aviation.
The Embassy of Ireland in Nairobi serves as a key diplomatic hub, accredited to Kenya, Eritrea, Somalia, and Sudan, underscoring the depth of the relationship between the two nations.

It was a vibrant tapestry of Irish heritage, where people from different corners of the world came together, if only for a night, to revel in the magic of being Irish.
