Wiki Media Commons Hosts Online Photography Challenge

A contest titled “Wiki Loves Africa” offers Africans to submit their images to be used by the online platform Wikipedia.

The challenge themed “People at work” is a chance for Africans to change the narrative offering their images for use on the internet. With more positive images of life in Africa, a more vibrant, lively and inclusive side of Africa can be showcased. So far, more than 400 submissions have been made from Kenyan applicants.

The competition ends on 31st November with a winner to be declared later in February 2018. With the first prize being offered a cash prize of $600 approximately 60,000Ksh, there is also an opportunity for photo essays with a specific scope identified by Wiki Media Commons.
