Comedian Felix Oduor alias Jalang’o has something up his sleeves, if he fails to snag the Lang’ata seat in his upcoming parliamentary bid.
The radio host and emcee revealed in his own radio show that should his political bid tank so much so that he ends up not bag the Lang’ata parliamentary seat, he will readily make his radio comeback like he never left. “In my life, I have never done anything that I have to lose. God forbid…if I lose, is that the end of the world? We pick up from where we left and move on. I have even been made to sign a very hard contract here… that if I lose, the next day I will be in the studio,” he admitted.
According to the Media Council of Kenya, journalists looking to take up political seats should resign six months prior to the polls. “As it applies in the public service where civil servants intending to vie for political office are required to leave office six months to elections and are under strict edicts not to use their space and influence to campaign for political office, the media is no exception,” issued MCK.
Jalang’o is set to give radio a backseat in February in accordance to the aforementioned requirement. He is vying for the Langa’ta seat, after he wins a ticket via the Orange Democratic Party (ODM), the party he joined as a life member. He will be going up against Jaoko Oburu, Nicholas Musonye and Nick Korir.
The 43-year-old currently cohosts a breakfast show with Kamene Goro.
