Mowezy Radio’s memory lives on!
It has been a year since the one half of Ugandan singing duo, Radio, and Weasel, Mowezy Radio died on the 1st of February 2018 at a hospital in Kampala from a blood clot in his brain sustained in a bar brawl in Entebbe a few days earlier.
Celebrities and fans alike are taking this day this day to remember the popular musician was honored by his fellow singer Weasel with a new body of work titled ‘Moses The Great’ album that was released last Friday on what would have been his 34th birthday.
Born on the 25th of January 1985, Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo aka Mowezy Radio started his careeer while he was young. Radio released his first solo song, “Tujja Kuba Wamu” in 2004 while at Makerere University where he completed a degree in Psychology. Around 2007, Moses and Jose Chameleone’s brother Weasel Manizo whose real name is Douglas Sseguya linked up to form the dynamic duo Radio & Weasel.
For ten years Radio and Weasel, released hits like “Magnetic”, “Bread and butter”, “Juice and Juicy” and “Nakudata”. They won many awards and gained recognition all over Africa and abroad.
In March 2018, Weasel released the first song titled “Tokyayitaba” since the death of Radio in the honor of his late friend. On the eve of Mowezy’s death, Weasel released his first single of 2019 called “God’s Grace”.
Mowezy was survived by his wife and popular Ugandan singer Lilian Mbabazi formerly of the girl group Blu3 and two children.
