Jamaican Lover’s Rock songstress Alaine visited the Kenyan capital Nairobi this past weekend.
The singer-songwriter performed as part of the Tomorrow Leader’s Festival at Kasarani this past Saturday (8.06.2019) where she performed a couple of her most famous hits. The crowds withstood the rain and frigid weather that reached lows of 16 degrees Celsius, determined to see the Reggae star perform. Alaine belted out some of her greatest hits including ‘Wafula’, ‘Rise in Love’, ‘Bye Bye Bye’ and more. She also encouraged the lively audience with one of her most recent releases ‘You Give Me Hope.’
The 40-year-old singer has had a great career so far collaborating with some great names including Beenie Man, Wayne Marshall, Busy Signal and even Mavado. Not one to be confined by borders she has also worked with Kenyan’s Love Child, Wyre on the hit track ‘Nakupenda Pia’ which the duo performed much to the amusement of the audience.
The ‘I Do’ crooner was also visited by Willy Paul during her stay here in Kenya. According to an Instagram post, the two shared a special moment from their meeting; a day before Alaine was set to grace the Tomorrow Leaders Festival. The two hit-makers went on to share some polite banter as Pozze spoke in Kiswahili to which Alaine responded in Jamaican Patois.
Alaine Laughton who goes by the stage name Alaine is one of Jamaica’s most successful acts. Born in New Jersey USA, She moved back to Jamaica in 2004 to focus on her own music after working in investment banking at JP Morgan Chase.
