Viral Kisii artist Embarabamba defends his raunchy dance moves following backlash

Sensational Gospel artist Christopher Nyangwara Mosioma, alias Embarambamba has come under fire after a raunchy video of him went viral on social media.

In one video, the electric artist is seen performing at a party while dancing on top of a lady at a club. While in another video, the artist is also seen dancing on top of a man amid cheers by revellers at the same club.

The video attracted a lot of criticism from Kenyans, with the majority questioning his morality as well as his commitment to Christianity as a gospel musician.

Embarambamba has defended his viral video saying the dancing was just illustrative. He added that people who are condemning him do not understand the context of the song.

“Wakenya wamenihukumu, wakenya wamenitusi, mafans wangu wamekasirika wengine wakisema eti mimi sijaokoka. Lakini wakenya wenzangu, hii video, kabla hujacommend, angalia statement yake kwanza (Kenyans have criticised me, they have insulted me and my fans are mad at me, some saying that I am not a Christian. But my fellow Kenyans, before you commend, look at the statement of the song),” Embarambamba said.

He added the song itself which he was performing was condemning the immorality that people have been doing and forgetting their God.

“Jesus came into this world for the sake of sinners…when Jesus was in this world, He sat with the sinners. The reason was that the sinners would be born again and know God,” he said.

Kenya Film and Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua has called out Embarambamba’s style saying that the artist had crossed the line.

The moral police as he is popularly referred to further said that the issue here is not that Embarambamba is a gospel artist doing secular antics but the fact that the video is depicting explicit content and indecent exposure.

The musician who is famed for his dancing antics in remote Kisii villages is not the only Kenyan artist who has been bashed by the KFCB boss and Kenyans at large for depicting immorality.
