You must have chanced upon a video of a man supposedly tossing an infant on a wall after what looks like a heated argument with his partner.
The man is seen raining beatings on the helpless woman, while the baby is wailing on the floor. He then turns to said baby, lifts him up and hurls him against a wall. Soon as the video surfaced, Kenyans conspired that the couple’s fight ensued after infidelity suspicions, which sounded eerily similar to a news story that had just hit the headlines.
The footage was linked to reports of a 23-year-old Murang’a man, Mark Njuguna, who was held in custody after killing a 4-month-old infant he suspected was not his biological daughter. Per multiple reports, a fight broke out between Njuguna and Mary Muthoni, his wife. After he threw the child on the concrete floor, he is alleged to have warned Muthoni of dire consequences, but the latter managed to sneak out of the house to called the suspect’s father.
Turns out the video in question is an excerpt from a Tanzania movie dubbed Sitamani Kuolewa and the character depicted in the clip are arguing over infidelity. The movie storyline’s semblance to the aforementioned story contributed to people believing it was actual footage.
