Vanessa Mdee chooses bae Rotimi And self-care over career

Tanzanian superstar Vanessa Mdee has been missing in action for a couple of months and she has her reasons.

The singer who is popularly known as Bed Money has come out to address the elephant in the room, why she is not making new music and her less use of social media.

The ‘Never Ever’ hitmaker sought to clarify her stance in an much anticipated update posted on an IGTV video yesterday (01.04.2020).

According to Vanessa, she has been all about her career for the last 13 years and now she just needs a break to recharge. She added that she would also like to enjoy the great love she has found in her boyfriend Rotimi.

Rotimi who is a Nigerian-American actor, singer and model famously known for his role in the hit series ‘Power’ as Andre ‘Dre’ Coleman momentarily interrupted the video to announce, “Hatuachani” which is Swahili for we are not breaking up.

Ms Mdee went on to assure her fans that she will be back and the time off gives her an opportunity to work on other things like her podcast titled ‘Deep Dive’. The podcast has had a great first season and season two is coming soon.

She went on to urge her fans to take care of themselves amid the Coronavirus pandemic which has led to the deaths of over 45,000 people globally.

The 31 year old award winning personality dated Bongo RnB singer Juma Jux for years before their split in early 2019. As reported by The Sauce, Mdee’s romance with Rotimi became public late last year.

The ‘Cash Madame’ star last single ‘Moyo’ is off her much anticipated EP titled ‘Expensive’ which is a follow-up to her 2018 album ‘Money Mondays’.

Vanessa Mdee started out as a media personality before she joined the music industry. Vanessa’s career has been on the rise, making great music, performing all over the world, debuting her acting career in MTV’s ‘Shuga’, judging the first season of the historic ‘East Africa’s Got Talent’ and working with brands like Fashion Nova.
